Minneapolis commuter behavior shifts since 2010

  • According to the U.S. Census Bureau from 2010 to 2015 individual drivers still made up the largest volume of commuter growth, adding nearly 9,500 drivers totaling 133,113 per day.
  • Walking and biking modes have gained collectively twenty-five times more individuals than public transportation, adding just 120 new commuters.
  • Landlords have taken note of increased employees biking or walking to work by providing additional amenities like bicycle storage, locker rooms and showers.
